In June, renovations were completed on the once small space of District Café. Expansion would be a more proper term as the café, now, is five times bigger (or more) than its original footprint. Even better news: Chael MacDonald has crafted a lovely brunch menu plus a dinner menu as well, so if you’re fan of the Nate Box school of How to Own and Operate a Successful Restaurant and Consistently Put Out Great Food, then you’ll like the new and improved District Café and Bakery.
The space is cool, clean and comfortable with wood, white, and light everywhere.
Go for breakfast, lunch, and brunch on weekends—plus dinner Monday to Saturday until 10 and 11 pm. If that doesn’t work, stop by for Happy Hour, and work your way through the intriguing cocktail list.
Check their Facebook page for hours. My CBC on air review is here, and for more details about the food, read my CBC web article.
