Twelve days until Christmas. Yikes. If you’re looking for a unique or hard to find gift, you might want to head to Sherwood Park’s Salisbury Greenhouse–especially on Thursday when the Sherwood Park Farmers’ Market sets up inside.
I feel a Christmas poem coming on….cue the jingle bells.
There are shiny things and things on strings, jellies, jams and silver rings,
Mohair mitts, muffin kits, sparkly gems for added glitz.
Tablecloths in red and gold or pretty napkins you can fold;
If you need meat or bread or cheese, there’s plenty of those and some of these:
Christmas cakes with nuts and fruit, and Santa dolls that are really cute.
Cedar boughs and wreaths from twigs, even wooden whirlygigs.
Clay tagines, soup tureens, tomatoes, cukes and salad greens,
Handmade toques so you don’t freeze, candles made of wax from bees,
Hemp and oats, meat from goats, teas to soothe your kids’ sore throats;
Choochoo trains, beads on chains, red and white striped candy canes.
And Santa’s there in his wooden chair, red suit, red hat, white beard and hair
So don’t you wait; don’t be late! Thursdays from 4:30 to 8.
Okay, sorry about that.
If it’s Christmas decorations, trees or poinsettias you’re looking for, Salisbury Greenhouse’s retail section has loads of gorgeous gifts and decorations in every colour scheme imaginable. This week Christmas decorations are 30% off and the week before Christmas you can get them for 40% off so don’t miss out!
Happy holidays.
