It’s -28C right now and as I look out my office window, my mind takes me to the Okanagan: hot summer days, sapphire blue water and endless fruit orchards.

My first visit to the area was in 1967 to visit my grandparents who’d moved that year to Rutland which was its own town up until it merged with Kelowna in 1973.

Cold days like this make me yearn for those hot summer days.

I wrote about the Kelowna that I came to know in my childhood and the Kelowna I know now for AMA Insider magazine. Now would be great time to read that article and get planning your vacation time for 2020.

Stay warm and happy reading!
