As part of the CBC series, Edmonton: The New Capital, I got to talk about how the restaurant and food scene has changed over the years. I could’ve talked for an hour and written an article three times as long. This city has come a long way in the past 10, 15 years, and it’s been so much fun to witness and be a part of it.

Someone emailed me to say I forgot about Jack’s Grill, Il Portico and the River City Grill in St. Albert. He was right. Those are three very important restaurants that are worth mentioning, and many good chefs got their start and experience there.

You can listen to my  on-air discussion about the #yegfood scene with Adrienne Pan, or read the web article at this link.

Keep up the wonderful work, chefs and restaurant owners, and to all you who eat out, please keep supporting our local producers and independent restaurants. Let’s give mediocrity the ol’ heave ho.
